Removing Weyerbacher Labels Home > Articles > Removing Weyerbacher Labels The Weyerbacher Brewing Company is a local brewery that makes some fine beers. I always used to hate reusing their bottles for my homebrew, because the labels were so hard to remove. I haven't seen any other commercial beers that have labels like theirs. They have a plastic coating on them that makes them shiny. I would have to soak them, peel off the plastic, and then soak them again to get the rest of the label off. It got to the point that whenever I got a Weyerbacher bottle, I'd just toss it in recycle bin. Recently, I discovered that if you hit the label with a heat gun or hair dryer for a couple seconds, the label will peel off, in one piece, leaving very little (if any) adhesive behind. No soaking necessary! I now look forward to removing labels from Weyerbacher bottles.
